Peek at the week:

Monday- Complete the population essay with the new science department rubric for essays.  After the essay, read about Fungi from Oh Yuck! The Encyclopedia of Everything Nasty and answer the conclusions questions on the back of the last page.

Tuesday- Begin investigation of populations with the yeast and molassas lab.  Today you will identify the independent and dependent variables, generate a problem and hypothesis, creat a data table for your information and review the procedures for setting up the lab.

Wednesday- Set up the yeast and molasses lab and collect data for Day #1.  (If time, begin reviewing cellular respiration)

Thursday- Collect data for Day #2 of the experiment.  Review cellular respiration with a power point.  Compare and contrast cellular respiration and photosynthesis using a Venn diagram.

Friday- Collect data for Day#3 of the experiment.  Take down the lab and clean all materials. Generate class averages for the results gathered and begin to analyze the information.

During the lab period this week: Investigate cellular respiration using an online site ( http://www.phschool.com/science/biology_place/labbench/lab5/intro.html) and the
